Sean Wiltshire

Sean was the first employee of Avalon Employment Inc. in 1992. As the CEO, he leads an amazing team in helping make employment a reality for so many folks in our community that have the skills to work! 

Sean has worked around the world supporting businesses and folks in finding their own path to success through employment.

 

Sean is an amazing cook and can often be found sharing his recipes with friends and colleagues, or sharing a funny story with his deep voice and big booming laugh.

Zach Baker

Zach graduated from Memorial University with a degree in Finance. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our agency from the public accounting, and not-for-profit industries. Zach is always on the lookout for ways to improve accounting processes and busy helping his co-workers budget for the future.

   

Zach is kept busy with his Poodle Archer, who is always on the lookout for new adventures.

Bernadette Doyle

Bernadette is our Payroll Administrator and has been with Avalon Employment Inc for over 20 years. She loves watching her grandson play hockey in the winter and soccer in the summer. Going to the cabin and spending time with her family are her favourite things to do.

Bernadette Conway

As the Office Administrator, Bernadette has been with Avalon Employment Inc. for 2 years. She enjoys spending time with her two girls and travelling with her husband and family. Bernadette loves a good time at the trailer.

Vanessa Whalen

Vanessa has been our Payroll Assistant for over 10 years. In her free time she loves bowling with friends, music and dancing and spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Krista Hinks

Krista has been an Employment Counsellor with Avalon Employment Inc. for over 20 years. You will likely work with her on the employment-side of the process here at the agency.

Seeing the individuals we assist realize their potential and to be a part of their successes is still Krista's favorite part of her job. 

On her days off, you can find Krista on a trail hiking and foraging with her dog, Lewie.

Shelley Andrews

Shelley is an Employment Counsellor helping her many clients and their families navigate the world of Employment.  Seeing her clients thrive in their work environments and within their communities gives her immense pride and satisfaction.  Knowing that they feel valued and appreciated is no better feeling. 

 

Shelley also serves as Secretary on the Canadian Association of Supported Employment Board.  In her spare time, Shelley can be found curled up with a good book, cooking, or planning day trips with friends and family.

Ashley Hammond

Ashley joined our team in 2020 as the Regional Coordinator (NL & PE) for the MentorAbility Canada Project and brings with her over 8 years of experience. She works closely with her local, regional, and national networks to help people explore their career interests and learn more about a particular industry through in-person or virtual mentorships. She also works with different groups across Canada to offer information sessions and other resources to help employers and other service providers learn more about how they can be more inclusive for individuals with disabilities.

In her free time, you can find Ashley taking pictures and exploring the outdoors with her sidekick/dog, Elvis!

Christina Higdon

Christina is a passionate Career Development Coordinator, aka Job Developer. She completes intakes with job seekers and helps connect them to meaningful employment by making matches between a job seekers skill sets and what employers are looking for in an employee. 

Christina is a busy mother of 3 active boys, and she’d have it no other way. She is also an active volunteer servicing the military community.

 

When she has a bit of down time, she likes to spend it travelling (to rock concerts mostly), and camping. 

She has a saucy cat she loves with her whole heart named Leonidas.

Megan Marshall

Megan facilitates the Autism Employment Program at Avalon Employment Inc. With over 20 years experience in the field of Autism and Neurodiveristy, Megan has worked in residential care, therapeutic recreation and education.

 

It was a natural fit for her to join the team at AEI to help develop and launch a now internationally recognized employment program for Autistics.

  

In her down time, Megan is hiking with her two beagles, Frankie and Obi.

Brooke Lundrigan

Brooke has been on the Avalon Employment team since 2021, helping clients obtain and maintain meaningful employment. 

 

Brooke has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. She is passionate about mental health and inclusion within our communities.

 

In her spare time, she likes playing with her puppy Fergie and enjoying the great outdoors.

Ashley Harris

Ashley is a Career Development Coordinator with Avalon Employment. She has been volunteering and working with folks who have Autism and learning differences for the last 20 years.

 

Ashley loves helping job seekers realize their potential and working with them to achieve their goals. In her spare time, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, camping, and hiking.
