A Message from our Chief Executive Officer

"Since 1992, Avalon Employment has had one mandate : to assist individuals in the community to make long-term employment connections.

As an organization we not only serve the individuals that seek our services, but we also serve the business community. Our partners are community based organizations and other organizations including the Board of Trade, Chamber of Commerce, and other employers that we work within the community.

Real economic development comes from a society that includes and celebrates the diversity within that community. In Newfoundland and Labrador, we are very lucky to have programs and services that support this "real" development.

We have many things to be proud of at Avalon Employment. We have helped develop local, regional, and national events, and offer various programs to organizations that have affected policy in all levels of government.

Our programs and supports are viewed by many as a model of service not only in Canada and the United States, but around the world.

Most of all, however, we are proud of those individuals in our community that have taken up the opportunity to participate in their community through work, as employment is the equalizer for all Canadians."
